Ecclesall Live At Home Scheme

For some years Ecclesall Live At Home Scheme has provided care and support for elderly or disabled people in this area who would otherwise find it difficult or impossible to continue living – as they prefer – in their own homes.

THANK YOU FROM ECCLESALL LIVE AT HOME SCHEME

On Friday and Saturday 11 and 12 March we held an exhibition of creative works produced by our members entitled “A Celebration of Creativity in Older Age” at Banner Cross Methodist Church. The aim of the exhibition was to raise awareness of the talents of older people within our community, as well as raising the profile of Ecclesall Live at Home Scheme. The event was extremely well supported by the local community, with over 200 people attending including the Lord Mayor of Sheffield. Everyone was extremely complimentary about the exhibition and commented on how impressed and inspired they were with the variety and quality of the exhibits.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Banner Cross congregation for their generosity in supporting us in various ways over the 2 days, including the provision of the room, the proceeds of the Saturday coffee morning and attendance at the event itself.

Textile paintingsThe scheme currently has a waiting list of older people who would like a weekly home visit. We are looking for volunteers who are able to offer an hour per week (preferably during the day) to visit an older person in their own home for a chat and a cup of tea. Other volunteering opportunities are also available.

We would love to hear from you if you would be able to offer us some time or would like further information.
