Duties of Leadership Team Members

Leadership Team Members Duties

Sunday a.m.

Before Service
Unlock Church by 10.00a.m., including vestry, Junior Church rooms, and side gates
Offer "Good morning" and any notices from front.
Unlock store cupboard for flower distribution baskets

After Service
Stand at door with Minister/Preacher.
After coffee is finished, see that tables are cleared away, floor is vacuumed, and room is set up for evening Service.
Lock up after everyone is gone.

Sunday p.m.

Before Service
Unlock at 6.00p.m.
Support Evening Worship Co-ordinator
Act as Welcoming person, if no one else arrives.
Say prayer with Minister/preacher if necessary.

After Service
Make sure Bibles, etc. are put away.
Lock up.

Special Roles Throughout The Year

To be planned and shared among the Practices:
Radical Hospitality, Passionate Worship, Risk Taking Mission and Service, Intentional Faith Development, Extravagant Generosity

Remember to order well in advance for special services/ events.
Keep Rota of worship participants/organisers

May.
Christian Aid Week/Christian Aid Sunday.

June
Consider special requirements for Church Anniversary or any other special summer services

July
Planning for Songs of Praise, if held

August
Friendship tea first Sunday
followed by "Songs of Praise"
Remember to book Banner Cross preacher/Minister in advance.

September.
Prepare Leadership Team's report for Church Annual Report
Queen & Captain/Jr Church Promotion Sunday
Harvest Festival - organise lists of needed items for Cathedral Archer Project
Arrange lunch.
One World Week.

October
Head count. Adults only. If someone attends evening service as well as morning, count only once.

Late October.
Order wreath for Remembrance Sunday. Liase re arrangements for Christmas Fair.

November.
Remembrance Sunday. Arrange wreath to be taken to Cenotaph.
Buy advent candles and arrange for wreath to be made.
Arrange readings with minister and find readers for each Sunday as candle is lit.
Order Christmas Cards for youth/uniformed groups.
Order Christmas tree and decorate for Christmas Fair.
Christingle Service: Liase with Kathryn Warren for oranges and staffing
Methodist Homes Sunday: Order envelopes.

December .
Lighting of Advent wreath candles.
Arrange Stewarding and Worship Co-ordinators and
Welcome Team for all Christmas Services.
Arrange for collection and distribution of Christmas leaflets.
Arrange for Blue Christmas/Service of the Longest Night

January.
Covenant Service, first Sunday.

February.
Home Mission Sunday
Order Palm Crosses for Palm Sunday.
Coordinate Easter Leaflet

March / April
Arrange for collection of Easter leaflets, and delivery.
Find out where Lent lunches are and publicise.
Arrange for Cross to be set up and check all adornments are there.
Sort out readings and readers.
Arrange Easter breakfast if at Banner Cross.
Mothering Sunday, daffodils.
Women's World day of Prayer. Publicise.
Network Easter Offering. Publicise.
Begin to think of new people for church leadership roles
