Thank you to all those who filled in the IFD Questionnaire. A summary of the results is set out below. If you wish to look at the results in detail they can be found on the church website:

Questions 1 – 8 and 12 are summarised below.

How often do I read the Bible on my own? – Seven people out of those who responded read their Bible more than once a week, eight people read their Bible less frequently and one person never read their Bible.

How often do I study the Bible in a group? - Eight people out of those who responded attended a Bible Study at least once a week, three people attended a Bible Study less frequently and five people never attended a Bible Study.

How often do I pray on my own? - Fifteen out of sixteen of those who responded prayed at least once a week on their own.

How often do I pray in a group? – Five people of those who responded attended a prayer group at least once a week, six attended a prayer group less often, and five never attended a prayer group.

How often do I attend a church service? – Fifteen out of sixteen of those who responded attended a Worship Service at least once a week.

I am a member of a class? – Fifteen out of sixteen of those who responded was a member of a class

My class meets? – Most classes meet monthly or less frequently. Some do not meet.

How often do I attend a class meeting? – Only one person whose class met never went to that class.

We asked you to comment on what you thought about Bible Study, Prayer and Worship at Banner Cross. Here is a summary of your thoughts.

What do we do well at Banner Cross?

Bible Study – Disciple Course, Friday Bible Study, Advent and Lent courses.

Prayer – Quiet Room, Saturday Morning Prayer Group, Prayer Chain, Prayer Book, and Intercessions during worship led by different people.

Worship – Café Worship, All Age Worship, different and innovative styles of Worship, Evening Worship, and the content of the Worship Service.

What would we like to see at Banner Cross?

Bible Study – More opportunities for Bible Study, different types of Bible Study, discipleship courses, young adults house group and the study of books by modern writers.

Prayer – More opportunities to pray in groups, either regularly, or as a one off series: more information on who or what to pray for. Prayer ministry.

Worship – Regular Café Worship, Worship at different times, different styles of Worship, more participation in Worship by children and adults, more relevant Worship for children and young adults.

The Intentional Faith Development and Passionate Worship Groups will be looking at the responses and will be reporting back on their findings.
