The Message

While you’re at the bookshelves, look at our newly-acquired copy of The Message, a truly contemporary rendering of the Bible.  Some passages won’t please you (nothing can beat the St James, etc, etc) but wander through it.  The first time I came across this Bible was when Rachel read to us the “Take no thought for the morrow” advice from Matthew chapter 6.  Quite stunning.  It does help to look afresh at well-loved passages.
