Christmas Fair

This year our Christmas Fair was held on Saturday, 3 December 2011.

Preparations

On Friday, 2  December cakes were brought in to be decorated.  

On Saturday morning helpers came at 9.30 a.m. to put out the tables for the stalls and decorate the church. At 10.30 a.m. stall holders decorated their own stalls in festive colours and set out their wares. Lunch was served between 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to stall holders.

The Minister, the Reverend Robert Lewis opened the fair at 1.30 p.m.

Café

CafeIn the morning between 10 am – 12 noon bacon butties were served along with the normal coffee and tea. Lunch was hot turkey sandwiches for helpers. From 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. drinks and mince pies were served.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stalls iuncluded: 

Toy StallBits and bobs (toiletries, jewellery and bits & bobs i.e. new mugs, candles etc.)  

Cakes / baked goods

Children’s Toys & books run by Brownies.

Handbags and Glad-rags 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Savouries StallPaper back books run by Junior Church.

Rainbow Stall selling brightly coloured gifts.

Savouries (tinned goods & jams /marmalade) run by the choir.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Children's Activities included:

Face PaintingFace Painting 

Secret Santa gifts run by Guides. This was where children of all ages paid £1 to choose a present for a relative and wrap it up.

Large numbers turned up and over £1,500 was raised half of which went to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

A big thank you to all who helped in any way. We could not run this event without you. Thank you all who came to support the event and spent their money.
