Methodist Homes For The Aged
At the heart of MHA's mission,to improve the quality of life for older people, inspired by Christian concern, is the recognition that each person is an individual, with their own needs and requirements. So part of our strategy is to provide as wide a choice of means of support as possible. Live at Home Schemes, sheltered housing and residential care homes were for several years the only options we could offer. Sheltered Housing means that residents enjoy the independence and privacy of living in their home while also knowing that a manager is on hand from nine ‘til five, five days a week. Now we are developing properties for sale as well as rent. As more and more of MHA’s housing residents are older and frailer, the charity has provided Housing with Care in a number of locations. Fairthorn is a MHA development of 29 Housing and Care apartments, each with two bedrooms, for sale or shared ownership in the village of Dore, Sheffield. The scheme is set in beautiful countryside and offers quality purpose built apartments equipped for privacy and independence. The manager leads a 24 hour specialist care and support team to meet individual needs and residents can join in a range of activities in the communal lounge and dining room.
